Text

Every county agricultural society shall hold an annual meeting for the election of officers and the transaction of other business on or before the third Tuesday in November. Service on the county agricultural society board or as an officer of the board is not a public office. Elected officials of the state or its political subdivisions may serve on the board or be elected as officers. At the annual meeting, an officer of the society shall make a report of its proceedings for the preceding year and a financial statement prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. The report must also list the amount paid out for premiums and for other purposes. Reports of the society are public data under chapter 13 and must be made available for inspection by any person.
