Subdivision 1.Licensure.

(a)No person shall practice as a certified midwife or serve as the faculty of record for clinical instruction in a midwifery distance learning program unless the person is licensed by the board under this chapter.
(b)An applicant for a license to practice as a certified midwife must apply to the board in a format prescribed by the board and pay a fee in an amount determined under section148G.11.
(c)To be eligible for licensure, an applicant must:
(1)not hold an encumbered license or other credential as a certified midwife or equivalent professional designation in any state or territory;
(2)hold a current and valid certification as a certified midwife from the American Midwifery Certification Board or any successor organization acceptable to the board and prov
