(a)A district that provides transportation of pupils to and from an interdistrict program for desegregation or integration purposes is eligible for state aid to reimburse the additional costs of transportation during the preceding fiscal year.
(b)A district in the metropolitan area may apply to the commissioner for state aid to reimburse the costs of transporting pupils who are enrolled under section124D.03during the preceding fiscal year if the enrollment of the student in the nonresident district contributes to desegregation or integration purposes.
