Subdivision 1.Enrollment exception. A pupil may enroll in a district of which the pupil is not a resident under this section. Subd. 2.Board approval. The pupil's parent or guardian must receive the approval of the board of the nonresident district and the board of the resident district. The nonresident board shall notify the resident board of the approval. Subd. 2a.Continued enrollment for homeless students. Notwithstanding subdivision 2, a pupil who has been enrolled in a district, who is identified as homeless, and whose parent or legal guardian moves to another district may continue to enroll in the nonresident district without the approval of the board of the nonresident district.
