PEPPER, CLOVES, AND NUTMEG (EXCERPT) Act 418 of 1919 289.521 Black pepper; standards. Sec.

1.No person, firm or corporation shall manufacture for sale, or expose for sale, sell, exchange or deliver or have in his possession with intent to sell, exchange or deliver, any ground or whole black pepper which contains not less than 6-75/100 per cent of non-volatile ether extract, not less than 30 per cent of starch, not more than 7 per cent of total ash, nor more than 1 and 5/10 per cent of ash insoluble in hydrochloric acid.
