§ 32 §14226 — Qualifications; cosmetology

Maine·Title 32 PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS·Ch. 126 BARBERING AND COSMETOLOGY LICENSING

A person is eligible to obtain a license under this chapter for the practice of cosmetology if that person:

1.Age.
2.Education.
3.Training. Has satisfactorily completed a course of instruction in cosmetology of 1,500 hours in not less than 9 months in a school licensed by the director or has experience in the practice of cosmetology as a trainee of 2,500 hours distributed over a period of at least 18 months; and
4.Examination. Has passed an approved examination.
