Section 9.

(a)The operator of any motorboat involved in a collision, accident or other casualty shall, so far as he is able without serious danger to his own or other vessels or to any persons, render to other persons affected by the boating accident such assistance as may be practicable and as may be necessary in order to save them from any danger caused by the boating accident. Such operator shall also give his name, address and identification of his vessel to any person injured and to the owner of any property damaged in the boating accident. In cases where death, personal injury or property damage over five hundred dollars occurs, the operator or any person authorized to enforce the provisions of chapter ninety B, shall immediately notify the division of law enforcement.
