Text

The parish governing authority shall, on request of fifty per cent or more of the property tax payers resident in any district, appoint a supervisory board of three property tax payers, residing in the district. The property tax payers thus requesting may suggest the names of the members of the supervising board. In case of a contest or a failure to suggest, the parish governing authority shall exercise the discretion of choice. The supervisors shall elect a chairman and a secretary from their own number. These officers shall serve without pay.
