§1697. Disputed claims
A.In cases where a state agency states that payment is late due to reasonable cause,
and said claim is disputed by the business owed payment, upon the request of a
representative of the business the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget shall determine
whether or not the circumstances constitute "reasonable cause" as used in R.S. 39:1695.
B.No state agency shall be required to pay a penalty if it has submitted a warrant to
the state treasurer at least thirty days prior to the due date prescribed by the contract.
