§501. Department of Transportation and Development; creation; domicile; composition; purposes and functions

A.The Department of Transportation and Development is created and shall be a body corporate with the power to sue and be sued. The domicile of the department shall be in Baton Rouge.
B.The Department of Transportation and Development, through its offices and officers, shall be responsible for developing and implementing programs to assure adequate, safe, and efficient transportation and other public works facilities and services in the state in accordance with the transfer of agencies and functions made by this Chapter.
