§ 33:3381

§3381. Street improvements authorized Municipalities, except New Orleans, having a population exceeding one thousand, and all incorporated parish seats may pave, gravel, macadamize, resurface, repair, or otherwise improve their streets and alleys and curbing, or any part of them one block or more in length within its corporate limits and may levy and collect special taxes or local assessments on the property abutting the street, curbing, alley, or sidewalk for the purpose of defraying the cost of the work. The costs shall include all expenses necessary in the performance of the work.
