§259. Tax levy by police jury to liquidate municipal indebtedness
If any municipality is dissolved and its charter surrendered under the provisions of
this Subpart, and is, on the day of dissolution, indebted in any sum to any person, the police
jury of the parish in which the municipality is situated shall levy such tax as the governing
authority of the municipality could have legally levied, for the purpose of liquidating the
outstanding indebtedness of the municipality.
