§11.1. Rules and regulations; essential health benefits package
The commissioner shall promulgate rules pursuant to the Administrative Procedure
Act to define "essential health benefits", to establish annual limitations on cost sharing and
deductibles, and to define required levels of coverage. The commissioner shall adopt initial
administrative rules before January 1, 2020. Notwithstanding any provision of R.S. 49:962
to the contrary, the commissioner may adopt initial administrative rules as required by this
Section pursuant to the provisions of R.S. 49:962 without a finding that an imminent peril
to the public health, safety, or welfare exists.
