Text

The Rapides Parish Law Enforcement District, a political subdivision as defined in Article VI, Section 44 of the Constitution of Louisiana, is hereby additionally authorized to construct law enforcement and sheriff's facilities, including but not limited to a jail or prison, located wholly within the territorial jurisdiction of the district. Said district is further authorized to incur debt and issue general obligation bonds for the purpose of financing such construction subject to approval of the State Bond Commission and approval of a majority of the electors of the district voting in an election called and held for that purpose. Such bonds shall be issued pursuant to the provisions of Part III of Chapter 4 of Title 39 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 and shall be sold pursuant
