§ 11:3555 — City of Lafayette; eligibility to participate in fund

Notwithstanding any other provision of the law to the contrary and particularly the provisions of R.S. 11:3520, any person employed as a police officer by the city of Lafayette after attaining the age of thirty-five years shall be eligible for membership in the police pension and relief fund of the city of Lafayette in the same manner and to the same extent as if such person or persons had not attained the age of thirty-five years at the time of employment. Such memberships shall be conditioned upon the filing of an application therefor with the board of trustees of the fund on or before August 1, 1970, together with such information as the board shall require.
