A.

(1)If the municipality has more than fifty thousand inhabitants the mayor, commissioner of public safety, superintendent of the police department, city comptroller, and four members of the police department, elected by a majority vote of the members of the department, shall constitute a board of trustees for the fund. The mayor shall be president of the board.
(2)The city comptroller shall be treasurer. One of the members elected from the police department shall be elected secretary. B. If the municipality has a population of fifty thousand or less, the commissioner of public safety, superintendent or chief of police or city marshal, city attorney, a member elected from membership of the police department by majority vote, and the city clerk shall constitute a board of trustees for the
