Text

The secretary of health and environment shall implement a drug utilization review program with the assistance of a medicaid drug utilization review board as provided in K.S.A. 39-7,119, and amendments thereto, to assure the appropriate utilization of drugs by patients receiving medical assistance under the medicaid program. The drug utilization review program shall include:

(a)Monitoring of prescription information including overutilization and underutilization of prescription-only drugs;
(b)making periodic reports of findings and recommendations to the secretary of health and environment and the United States department of health and human services regarding the activities of the board, drug utilization review programs, summary of interventions, assessments of education interventions an
