(a)When any document that is required by this act to be filed with the secretary of state has been so filed and is an inaccurate record of the covered entity action therein referred to, or was defectively or erroneously executed, such document may be corrected by filing with the secretary of state a certificate of correction of such document which shall be executed and filed in accordance with this act. The certificate of correction shall specify the inaccuracy or defect to be corrected and shall set forth the portion of the document in corrected form. In lieu of filing a certificate of correction, the document may be corrected by filing with the secretary of state a corrected document which shall be executed and filed in accordance with this act.
