A credit union organized under K.S.A. 17-2201 to 17-2221, both sections inclusive, and acts amendatory thereof and supplemental thereto, may be converted into a federal credit union by complying with the following requirements:
(a)The proposition for such conversion shall first be approved by a majority of the directors of the credit union. The proposition then shall be submitted to a vote of its members, the notice of which shall be in writing and shall be delivered in person to each member, or shall be mailed to each member at the address for such member appearing on the records of the credit union, not more than 30 nor less than seven days prior to the time of the vote.
