(a)Any charitable organization, professional fund raiser or professional solicitor having a principal place of business other than within this state, or organized under and by the laws of a foreign state, which is subject to the provisions of this act, shall be deemed to have irrevocably appointed the secretary of state as the agent for service of process. Service may be made by delivering to and leaving with the secretary of state, or with any deputy or clerk in the corporation division of such office, three copies of such service and a fee of $30.
(b)Following service upon the secretary of state, the provisions of law relating to service of process on foreign corporations shall thereafter govern.
