In Sedgwick and Sumner counties, land adjacent to an established cemetery district which is a part of another organized cemetery district which lies in a county other than where the greater portion of the cemetery district to which it is proposed to be attached lies may be detached from one district and attached to the other cemetery district in the following manner. Upon presentation to the board of county commissioners of the county in which the greater part of the cemetery district lies, of a petition setting forth the boundaries of the area proposed to be attached to the cemetery district and signed by not less than 51% of the qualified electors of the area it shall be the duty of the board of county commissioners, at its next regular meeting, to examine the petition.
