At the first annual meeting of cemetery districts, provided for by K.S.A. 17-1333, and amendments thereto, which occurs after the effective date of this act, directors shall be elected as follows: Two for terms of four years; one for a term of three years; one for a term of two years; and one for a term of one year. Thereafter, upon the expiration of the term of a director, a successor shall be elected for a term of four years. Directors shall reside either (1) in the county or counties in which such cemetery district is located or (2) within 25 miles of the cemetery district boundaries. Upon the change of residency of any director as required by this section, such director's office shall be deemed to be vacated.
