Text

(a)The following may create, by an ordinance adopted by its legislative body, an automated transit district:
(1)A consolidated city.
(2)A city having a population of more than one hundred thousand (100,000) and less than one hundred ten thousand (110,000). The ordinance creating an automated transit district must specify the territory to be included initially in the district.
(b)An automated transit district may also be created by the procedures provided in sections 2 and 3 of this chapter. As added by Acts 1982, P.L.77, SEC.1. Amended by P.L.84-1988, SEC.7; P.L.12-1992, SEC.60; P.L.170-2002, SEC.62; P.L.119-2012, SEC.86; P.L.104-2022, SEC.62.
