Within sixty (60) days after any land or right in it is paid for and acquired under this chapter, the board shall file and have recorded in the recorder's office in the county in which the land is situated a description of it sufficiently accurate for its identification, with a statement of the purpose for which it is acquired or taken. The description shall be signed by a majority of the board. The board may transfer to any railroad company or companies any property acquired in connection with the improvement, but intended for the permanent occupation or use of the railroad or railroads, after proper adjustment in the equitable settlements between the parties.
