§ 8-23-17-16 — Allowance for lease or rental of adequate replacement dwelling
Except as provided in section 12(3) and
12(4) of this chapter, and in addition to payments otherwise authorized
by this chapter, the agency shall make a payment to or for the benefit
of a displaced person from a dwelling actually and lawfully occupied
by the displaced person for not less than ninety (90) days prior to
commencement of code enforcement activities for, or the initiation of
negotiations for acquisition of, the dwelling. The payment shall be an
amount, not to exceed two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500),
necessary to enable the displaced person to lease or rent an adequate
replacement dwelling for a period not to exceed two (2) years, less an
amount equal to twenty percent (20%) of the gross monthly income of
the displaced person averaged over the previous twelve (12) mont
