§ 8-23-17-11 — "Code enforcement" defined

As used in this chapter, "code enforcement" means any project or program for the elimination or prevention of the development or spread of deteriorated or deteriorating areas through a systematic inspection of buildings and structures in an area and the enforcement of codes or ordinances establishing standards for the condition and maintenance of dwellings, buildings, or premises as safe, sanitary, and fit for human habitation.
