Text
(a)The special police authorized by this
chapter possess all the common law and statutory powers of the police
of the entity that established the authority by ordinance, including the
power of fresh pursuit upon adjoining streets and roads.
(b)An operator (as defined in IC 5-23-2-8) who enters into an
operating agreement with an authority under IC 5-23 may exercise the
special police powers granted by this section during the term of the
operating agreement. A person employed by an operator to exercise
special police powers under this subsection must have training that is
at least equivalent to the minimum training requirements established
for law enforcement officers under IC 5-2-1.
(c)This section does not apply to an authority that was established
under IC 19-6-3 (before its repeal on
