Text
(a)A person who violates this chapter is
subject to a civil penalty of one hundred dollars ($100) for the first
violation and one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each subsequent
violation.
(b)Civil penalties described in subsection (a) may be assessed only
after an administrative hearing under IC 6-8.1-5-1 has been conducted
at which the person has an opportunity to present information as to why
a civil penalty should not be assessed.
(c)Money collected by the department under subsection (b) shall be
deposited in the motor carrier regulation fund established under IC 8-2.1-23.
