§ 8-2.1-22-38 — Rebates, consideration, or discrimination in violation of chapter; assisting or permitting transportation at less than approved rate; fraudulent activity; operator of vehicle for hire not to operate until owner or lessor secures required authority
(a)A person, whether carrier, shipper, or
officer, employee, agent, or representative thereof, shall not knowingly
offer, grant, give, solicit, accept, or receive any rebate, consideration,
or discrimination in violation of this chapter. A person shall not, by
means of any false or fictitious bill, bill of lading, receipt, voucher,
account, claim, certificate, affidavit, deposition, lease, or bill of sale,
or by any other means or device, knowingly assist or permit any person
to obtain transportation of passengers or household goods subject to
this chapter for less than the rate, fare, or charge approved by the
department. A person shall not knowingly, by any such means or
otherwise, fraudulently seek to evade or defeat regulations as in this
chapter provided for motor carriers.
