§ 8-16-2-19 — Contracts with adjoining states
In the discharge of its duties under the
provisions of this chapter, the department, as the agent and
representative of the state of Indiana and in the name of the state of
Indiana, is hereby authorized and empowered, both before and during
the construction of any such bridge and after the completion thereof, to
cooperate with and enter into a contract or contracts with such
adjoining state, acting through any proper authorities or agents
representing such adjoining state, to provide for the payment by such
adjoining state of such part of the costs of the construction of such
bridge, not exceeding one-half thereof, as may be agreed upon in such
contract; and in such contract to also agree upon and determine the
time and manner of the making by such adjoining state of such
payment or paymen
