Text
The department shall erect upon, or adjacent
to, any and every such bridge or its approaches, and within the
territorial limits of the state of Indiana, all necessary and convenient
toll-gates and toll-collectors' houses, and shall employ all necessary
toll-collectors, who shall each, before entering upon the performance
of his duties, execute his bond, payable to the state of Indiana, in the
penal sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000), with surety to the approval
of the department, and conditioned for the faithful performance of his
duties as such toll-collector and that he will faithfully account for and
pay over according to law all moneys that may come to his hands as
such toll-collector. All tolls collected by said toll-collectors shall be
