5.
(a)The authority may, if it determines to do
so:
(1)employ its own police officers for the purpose of policing any
toll road under its jurisdiction;
(2)designate one (1) or more of such officers for the purpose of
policing any toll road under its jurisdiction; and
(3)designate one (1) of such officers as chief or superintendent.
(b)The police officers so employed by the authority are vested with
all necessary police powers to enforce the provisions of the laws of the
state of Indiana and without writ or warrant for violation thereof when
committed in their presence. To this end, police officers employed by
the authority shall be peace officers and shall have within the property
limits of the toll road project the same powers with respect to the
enforcement of laws as have sheriffs,
