Text
(a)A certificate holder or vendor shall conduct:
(1)background checks on newly hired employees engaged in
activities related to the conducting of sports wagering; and
(2)annual background checks on all existing employees engaged
in activities related to the conducting of sports wagering.
A background check conducted under this section must include a
search for criminal history and any charges or convictions involving
corruption or manipulation of sporting events and any association with
organized crime.
(b)A person may not obtain any of the following required for
conducting business under this article unless the person meets the
suitability requirements determined by the commission:
(1)A vendor's license.
(2)A sports wagering service provider license.
(3)A supplier's license.
