Text
If a person files a petition to assign a lottery prize payment under IC 34-28-9.2 and the person has had debts to a state agency, the director shall:
(1)investigate whether the person has any outstanding debts to a
state agency; and
(2)submit a letter, within fifteen (15) days after receiving the
petition, to the petitioner and the court in which the petition is
filed that:
(A)references the cause number of the petition to assign a
lottery prize payment; and
(B)states whether the person has or has not satisfied debts to a
state agency.
