Text

(a)There is created a state ethics commission.
(b)The commission is composed of five (5) members appointed by the governor.
(c)No more than three (3) commission members shall be of the same political party. A person who:
(1)holds an elected or appointed office of the state;
(2)is employed by the state; or
(3)is registered as a lobbyist under IC 4-2-7; may not be a member of the commission. The governor shall designate one (1) member of the commission as the chairperson. Each appointment to the commission is for a period of four (4) years. A vacancy shall be filled by the governor for the unexpired term.
