Text

A person may not, directly or indirectly, give, render, pay, offer, solicit, or accept money, service, or other valuable consideration:

(1)for, or in connection with, an appointment, a proposed appointment, a promotion, or a proposed promotion to; or
(2)to obtain any advantage in; a position in the state classified service.
