(a)Every person appointed to a
classification in the state classified service shall complete a working
test period while occupying a position in the classification. The
working test period begins immediately upon the person's appointment
and continues until a time established by the director. At least once
during the working test period, the appointing authority shall prepare
for the director, in the manner specified by the director, a full
performance appraisal of the employee's work.
(b)Subject to subsection (c), the appointing authority may remove
an employee for any reason at any time during the employee's working
test period. The appointing authority shall immediately report the
removal to the director and to the employee who is removed.
