Text
The department is hereby authorized to make
administrative and organizational surveys of the departments,
institutions, boards, commissions, and other agencies to determine
whether the activities thereof are essential to good government and are
being carried on in an economical and efficient manner and without
duplication, for the purpose of determining the feasibility of improving
the administration of state government by the elimination of
unnecessary positions and activities, the avoidance of duplication, and
by the use of improved procedures and organization.
