Text
A pawnbroker shall be liable for the loss of
a pledge resulting from the pawnbroker's failure to exercise reasonable
care in regard to it, but the pawnbroker shall not be liable for the loss
of a pledge which could not have been avoided by the exercise of
reasonable care. The burden of proof to establish due care shall be
upon the pawnbroker.
