§ 28-1-11-1 — General and enumerated rights, privileges, and powers; "bank or trust company"
(a)In addition to the general rights, privileges,
and powers conferred by IC 28-1-5 through IC 28-1-9 and subject to
the limitations and restrictions contained in this article and in the
articles of incorporation, every bank or trust company shall possess and
may exercise the rights, privileges, and powers enumerated in this
chapter.
(b)Unless the language used specifically indicates otherwise, the
terms "bank or trust company" and "bank and trust company" as used
in IC 28-1-11 through IC 28-1-20 mean any bank or trust company
organized under this article and any bank of discount and deposit, loan
and trust and safe deposit company, or trust company organized under
any statute enacted prior to February 24, 1933.
