§ 13-11-2-239 — "Treatment"

Indiana·Art. 11 DEFINITIONS
(a)"Treatment", for purposes of environmental management laws, when used in connection with a waste that is determined to be hazardous waste under IC 13-22-2-3, means any method, technique, or process designed to change the physical, chemical, or biological character or composition of the waste so as to:
(1)neutralize the waste;
(2)make the waste:
(A)nonhazardous or less hazardous;
(B)safer to transport, store, or dispose of;
(C)amenable to recovery or storage; or
(D)reduced in volume; or
(3)recover energy or material resources from the waste.
(b)"Treatment", for purposes of IC 13-22-12, includes:
(1)interim status; and
(2)permitted; hazardous waste treatment.
(c)"Treatment", for purposes of IC 13-29-1, means any method, technique, or process, including storage for radioactive
