Text

(a)The commission consists of the following members:
(1)Six (6) individuals who are not members of the general assembly appointed by the governor. Not more than four (4) members appointed under this subdivision may be members of the same political party.
(2)Five (5) individuals from the State of Illinois appointed under Illinois law.
(b)The governor shall notify the governor of the State of Illinois that the governor has appointed members to the commission under subsection (a).
(c)The governor shall schedule the first meeting of the commission not later than September 1, 2025. At the commission's first meeting, the members shall elect from the commission's members:
(1)the commission's chair; and
(2)other officers the commission considers necessary or appropriate.
