Text

After filing of the petition as provided in Section 9-3-12, the court shall enter an order setting a date for hearing on the question of benefits, and direct that notice be given by the committee on local improvements of the pendency of the proceeding. The notice shall state generally the nature of the improvement, the pendency of the proceeding, the time and place of filing the petition therefor, that an assessment roll has been filed, and the time and place at which an application will be made for confirmation of the assessment, the same to be not less than 15 days after the mailing of such notice. Such notice shall be sent by mail, postpaid, to each person paying the taxes on the respective parcels during the last preceding year during which taxes were paid, at his residence as shown in
