§ 9-2-89

In counties having a population of less than 1,000,000, any person owning or claiming land or lots upon which judgment is prayed, as provided in this Division 2, may pay the special taxes, special assessments, interest, and costs due thereon to the collector of the municipality in which the land or lots are situated at any time before sale. On the day fixed for sale, the collector shall report, under oath, to the county clerk, all the land or lots upon which special assessments have been paid, if any, after the time of making the return mentioned in Section 9-2-85 and prior to that day.
