§ 9-2-13 — Publication and posting of ordinances

Upon the presentation to the corporate authorities of the proposed ordinance, together with the required recommendation and estimate, if the estimate of cost exceeds the sum of $1,000,000, exclusive of the amount to be paid for land to be taken or damaged, the ordinance shall be referred to the proper committee and published in the usual way or posted on the municipality's Internet website, in full, with the recommendation and estimate, at least 10 days before any action is taken thereon by the corporate authorities. Whenever any plat, plan, profile, or drawing is a part of the ordinance, or is attached thereto as a part thereof, or is referred to by the ordinance, it is not necessary to publish or post that plat, plan, profile, or drawing in connection with the publication or posting of the ordinance.
