Whenever the legal voters at an annual township meeting or a special township meeting direct the transfer and payment of any surplus township fund or funds into some other township fund or funds or into the treasury of the road and bridge fund for road and bridge purposes under Section 245-5, the treasurer of the township fund or funds shall pay those surplus funds into the other township fund or funds or into the treasury and to the treasurer of the road and bridge fund and shall take credit for the payment.
