Charitable donations for aid to persons in need of assistance. A county board may accept or receive through unsolicited gift, grant or legacy any charitable donation of food, medical services or supplies, goods, services, housing, transportation, commodities, real or personal property, and financial aid or money for purposes of providing aid to individuals or families in need of assistance. Such donations shall be distributed for public use through local charitable organizations or local direct service government agencies.
