This Act creates a comprehensive approach to ending Illinois' firearm violence epidemic. Furthermore, the Act reduces significant gaps in Illinois' mental health treatment system for youth, young adults, and families that live in areas with chronic exposure to firearm violence and exhibit mental health conditions associated with chronic and ongoing trauma.
