Organization; executive director; assistants to Commissioners.

(a)In order that the Commission may perform the duties and exercise the powers granted to it and assume its responsibilities under this Act and any and all other statutes of this State, the Commission, acting jointly, shall hire an executive director who shall be responsible to the Commission and shall serve subject only to removal by the Commission for good cause. The executive director shall be responsible for the supervision and direction of the Commission staff and for the necessary administrative activities of the Commission, subject only to Commission direction and approval.
