(a) In this Section, "long-acting reversible contraceptive device" means any intrauterine device or contraceptive implant. (b) Any individual or group policy of accident and health insurance or qualified health plan that is offered through the health insurance marketplace that is amended, delivered, issued, or renewed on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 102nd General Assembly shall allow hospitals separate reimbursement for a long-acting reversible contraceptive device provided immediately postpartum in the inpatient hospital setting before hospital discharge. The payment shall be made in addition to a bundled or Diagnostic Related Group reimbursement for labor and delivery.
